Let's discuss your project

Brand Identity

Building brands people recognize, understand, and remember.

Your brand is often the first impression people have of your business. Long before someone becomes a customer, they are forming opinions based on what they see, what they read, and how consistently your business presents itself.

We approach brand identity as part of a broader business strategy — not simply as the design of a logo — building visual systems that help businesses communicate clearly and grow with confidence.

Based in Miami. Proudly serving clients in English and Spanish.

More Than a Logo

A brand is a system — not a graphic.

Many businesses believe branding begins with designing a logo. In reality, a logo is one component of a much larger system.

A strong identity helps people recognize your business, understand who you are, remember what you offer, and trust the experience they receive. It creates consistency across websites, presentations, printed materials, social media, campaigns, internal documents, and every other place your business appears.

A thoughtful identity makes a business feel intentional rather than improvised.

Brand Identity Capabilities

Visual systems designed for real businesses.

Not every business needs the same depth of branding. A project may be a focused logo system, a complete identity with guidelines and templates, or a refresh of what already exists.

01 / Brand Discovery

Understanding the business before making creative decisions.

Before anything visual, we establish what the business stands for, who it speaks to, and how it should be perceived. Every design decision that follows traces back to this.

  • Business Positioning
  • Audience Definition
  • Competitive Landscape
  • Brand Personality
  • Communication Goals
  • Long-Term Direction
02 / Visual Identity

The visual language that represents the business.

04 / Marketing Assets

The identity applied to real communication materials.

An identity only proves itself in use. We produce the pieces the business actually needs to put in front of customers.

  • Business Cards
  • Email Signatures
  • Presentation Decks
  • Brochures
  • Flyers
  • Social Media Assets
  • Event Materials
  • Digital Advertisements
05 / Digital Identity

Prepared for the places customers actually find you.

Most first impressions now happen on a screen. We prepare the identity for websites, profiles, interfaces, and every digital surface the business occupies.

  • Website Visual Direction
  • Social Media Profiles
  • Google Business Profile Graphics
  • Favicons
  • Email Templates
  • UI Foundations
  • Digital Components

Most identity projects combine several of these.

Let's discuss your brand

Built Around Your Situation

Different businesses need different levels of branding.

Some businesses need an identity built from nothing. Others have one that has drifted over the years and needs to be brought back together. Both are normal starting points.

A

You're launching a new business

You need a professional identity in place before customers begin interacting with your company.

B

Your business has grown

The current identity no longer reflects the quality, size, or direction of the business.

C

Your branding feels inconsistent

Different materials, different providers, and years of small changes have created an inconsistent experience.

D

You're entering a new market

A stronger identity helps communicate credibility when expanding into new industries, locations, or customer segments.

E

You're modernizing

The business has evolved. The brand should evolve with it.

F

You need guidance

Sometimes the first question isn't "can you design a logo?" It's "does our current brand still represent who we are?"

Problems We Help Solve

Branding challenges often extend beyond design.

These are the things businesses actually say when they contact us about their brand.

  • 01Our logo feels outdated.
  • 02We don't look as professional as the quality of our work.
  • 03Nothing feels consistent.
  • 04Every document looks different.
  • 05Our website doesn't match our brand.
  • 06Customers don't immediately understand who we are.
  • 07We have multiple versions of our logo.
  • 08Different vendors created different materials.
  • 09We're launching something new.
  • 10We need a stronger visual foundation.

Scope

Every business requires a different level of branding.

A project may be a focused refresh or a complete rebrand. We define the scope after understanding the business — not from a fixed package.

A project may include:

Nothing here is mandatory. We recommend the components that will actually be used, and leave out the ones that would sit in a folder.

  • Brand Discovery
  • Logo Design
  • Logo Variations
  • Color System
  • Typography
  • Brand Guidelines
  • Graphic Language
  • Illustration Style
  • Photography Direction
  • Business Cards
  • Presentation Templates
  • Social Media Assets
  • Email Signatures
  • Website Visual Direction
  • Marketing Materials
  • Brand Refresh
  • Complete Rebranding

Built for Different Businesses

Every industry communicates differently.

A restaurant, an engineering company, a law firm, and a medical practice should not look or communicate the same way.

We adapt each identity to the business, the audience, and the market rather than applying a predefined visual style.

  • Professional Services
  • Restaurants
  • Medical Practices
  • Dental Practices
  • Wellness
  • Industrial Companies
  • Construction
  • Property Management
  • Technology
  • Retail
  • Education
  • Startups

Do not see your industry? Projects are evaluated on the business need, not the category.

Let's discuss your brand

Our Approach

Every brand begins with understanding the business behind it.

We don't begin by asking which colors you like. We begin by understanding the business.

Who are your customers? How do you want the business to be perceived? What makes you different? What should people remember after interacting with your company?

Those answers influence every visual decision that follows.

01Understand

We learn about your business

We start with the business, not the moodboard: what you sell, who buys it, how customers find you, and what they need to believe before they trust you.

Where an identity already exists, we also review what is currently in use and how consistently it is being applied.

02Define

We establish direction and scope

We agree on positioning, personality, and how the business should be perceived — then determine the level of branding the project actually requires.

Some businesses need a complete identity system. Others need a focused refresh. Defining this early prevents work that will never be used.

03Design

We create the visual system

Logo, typography, color, graphic language, and the rules that hold them together — designed as a system rather than a single graphic.

Every element is tested in the contexts where it will actually live: small on a phone, large on a sign, flat on a document, and next to everything else the business produces.

04Apply

We prepare it for real-world use

We deliver the files, templates, guidelines, and assets your team needs across print, digital, and marketing.

An identity that only exists inside a presentation is not finished. The goal is a system your team can use on a Tuesday afternoon without asking us.

05Grow

The brand evolves with the business

As you add services, locations, audiences, or products, the identity can extend to cover them without starting over.

We can stay involved for new materials, sub-brands, campaign assets, or periodic reviews of how consistently the identity is being applied.

The first conversation is simply an opportunity to understand the business and determine the right next step.

Let's discuss your brand

Brand Identity FAQ

Questions about working with us on your brand.

If something is not covered here, it is usually because the answer depends on the project. Ask us directly and we will give you a straight answer.

01

Do I need a complete rebrand?

Often, no. A full rebrand replaces recognition you may have spent years building.

In many cases a refresh is the better decision: keep the equity in what customers already recognize, and rebuild the parts that are actually causing problems. We review what exists before recommending either.

02

Can you modernize an existing logo?

Yes. Many projects are exactly this — refining proportions, spacing, type, and color so the mark holds up at small sizes and on screens, without discarding what people already associate with your business.

03

Can you work with our current brand?

Yes. We can work within existing brand guidelines, extend an identity that was never fully documented, or bring consistency to materials created by several different providers over the years.

04

Do you provide brand guidelines?

Yes, and we scale them to the business. A small company usually needs a short, practical document covering logo usage, color, type, and common mistakes.

Larger organizations with multiple teams or vendors may need fuller documentation with layout systems, templates, and component rules.

05

Can branding be done before the website?

Usually it should be. The website is one of the largest applications of the identity, and designing it before the brand direction exists tends to create rework.

That said, projects sometimes run in parallel when a launch date requires it. We will tell you honestly which sequence makes more sense for your situation.

06

Do you also develop the website?

Yes. Colmena Digital provides brand identity, website design, and website development, so the identity can move into a live site without a handoff gap.

We can also prepare the identity for another team to implement.

07

Can you create marketing materials?

Yes. Business cards, presentation decks, brochures, flyers, social media assets, event materials, email signatures, and digital advertising can all be included in an identity project or produced afterward as needed.

08

Can you collaborate with our marketing team?

Yes. We regularly work alongside internal marketing teams, agencies, and independent designers.

The scope may include the identity system, templates and documentation for the team to use, design review, or ongoing support as new materials are produced.
